About this book

The result of a long and careful campaign of fieldwork and recording, this publication is an important addition to Gloucestershire fauna reference works and contains much useful information about beetles in the county.

David Atty published Coleoptera of Gloucestershire 35 years ago (Atty, 1983). A lot has happened since then, and a new and fuller review is amply justified. More than 300 additional species have subsequently been discovered in the county – some new arrivals but others long overlooked. Rather than fully incorporate the data compiled by Atty, the decision was taken to us that work as a starting point and concentrate on records made during the past 30 years. The individual species entries in this new review repeat the information provided in Atty (1983) as a baseline, and only occasionally has additional detail of older records been sought and included.

Please note, an index in PDF format in two, three, or four-column format is available for download from https://glosnats.org/publications-invertebrates/.
