The Pulsar Axion series is an innovative line of compact thermal imaging monoculars that make a great tool when it is necessary to observe cryptic species or when surveying in dark or foggy conditions. The XQ35 features a European Lynred 384x288, 17 µm thermal sensor with an NETD of <40mK and a fast aperture Germanium F35/1.0 objective lens producing a clear, distinguished thermal impression. It can detect a 1.8m (approximately human-sized) object at a range of up to 1300m in total darkness. With IPX7 waterproofing allowing it to operate in heavy rain, high humidity, and even under 1m of water for up to 30m, it can withstand even the most challenging environmental conditions. With a magnification of 2-8x and an additional 4x digital zoom ensure the XQ35 provides a powerful visual experience, while the option of changing the magnification in 2x increment or in a continuous motion allows the user to operate the camera however best suits them. The 50Hz frame rate and use of long wave spectral range makes the XQ35 series a suitable choice for bat work.
The high contrast VGA-resolution AMOLED display features enhanced colour rendering, providing a clear and smooth picture whilst on-the-move. Unlike an LCD screen AMOLED does not require backlighting, so is perfect for working in dark conditions.
Video and images can be recorded onto the XQ35's internal memory and download via a USB-C cable or the built in WiFi module. Using the Stream Vision 2 mobile app, users can transform their phone or tablet into a second screen, remotely control the scope's functions and install firmware updates in addition to browsing and sharing media. The app comes with a generous 16GB of free cloud storage and is available for Apple and Android devices.
