Studies in Afrotropical Zoology is concerned with Africa’s immense diversity of plants and animals, the continent’s ecosystems and conservation challenges.

Part of the Royal Museum for Central Africa’s mission is to enhance our knowledge of Africa’s biodiversity and promote wildlife conservation in Africa. Studies in Afrotropical Zoology has replaced Annals of the Royal Museum for Central Africa.

Afrotropical refers to the tropical part of Africa, loosely that part of the continent south of the Tropic of Cancer. The Royal Museum for Central Africa is one of Belgium’s premier museums.
