Almost every aquatic ecologist and many entomologists will have used or owned an EFE & GB Nets net or frame at some point in their working life; the trademark orange flashing around the mouth of each net evokes memories for many and is a clear mark of quality and durability. Founded in 1974, the company is now the leading manufacturer of fieldwork equipment, nets and frames in the UK and is renowned for the robust practicality of its range of handmade professional survey equipment.
In May 2016 EFE & GB Nets started a new phase in its 42-year existence by teaming up with NHBS. The workshop has moved 50 miles east from Lostwithiel in Cornwall to Totnes in Devon to bigger and better facilities and customer services will be handled by the experienced team at NHBS. Alongside NHBS, EFE & GB Nets will continue as a specialist manufacturer of marine, freshwater and entomological nets of various types, sizes and strengths all carefully designed to meet the demands of researchers, consultants, public authorities and educators in the environment sector.
The vast majority of our products are handmade in the South West of England to designs based on 42 years of practical field experience. All of our professional survey equipment is sturdy enough to withstand continuous use by students and professional workers and whenever applicable, the equipment conforms to current Environment Agency specifications. As before we are also very happy to undertake bespoke design projects to produce versions of our current nets in non-standard sizes or entirely new nets and other equipment of your own design. Please contact our Wildlife Equipment Engineer, Thomas Hamilton-Koch (firstname.lastname@example.org) to discuss your ideas.
