Ash trees face major threat
Europe's ash trees are under serious threat of extinction with the potential arrival in Britain of the emerald borer beetle. Research suggests that in combination with ash dieback, this beetle threat marks a potentially devastating 'double 'whammy' for the species.
Tiny frog species discovered in India
Microhyla laterite measures only 1.6 centimetres and was named after the laterite rock formations in which it was found. These rocky coastal areas are classified as wastelands and devoid of much vegetation. The discovery was made by researchers from India and the National University of Singapore.
Protecting rare primates in Vietnam
The current issue of New Scientist magazine features a compelling story about the endangered primates of Vietnam. Read the full article on their website.
