NHBS Grapevine - The Best of Our Books & Equipment
#65
21st December 2017

About Us
In this edition: We are excited to announce the arrival of the latest addition to the Handbook of the Mammals of the World series. We take a trip back in time with a fascinating new look at the history of the cephalopods and we are reacquainted with the charming pine marten as it fights its way back from the brink of extinction in the UK.

Other highlights: On the NHBS blog this week we interview Keith Betton and Mark Avery about their second book of conversations with acclaimed birdwatchers. We also show off some of the books and equipment products that have delighted us this year, in the 2017 NHBS Staff Picks.

Behind More Binoculars: An interview with the authors
Following in the footsteps of the extremely popular Behind the Binoculars, Behind More Binoculars is the second instalment of interviews from authors Keith Betton and Mark Avery, in which they delve into the histories and lives of well-known birders.
Posing such questions as "How and why did you take up birding?" and "What were your early experiences of nature?" this book gets to the heart of what makes birders tick.
We recently caught up with the authors to ask them some questions about this insightful, humorous and unique approach to getting to know their fellow bird enthusiasts. Read the full conversation on our Blog.
