About this book

A translation of "L'analyse du sol: Enchantillonnage, instrumenation et controle", Paris 1998. The objective of this book is to provide a better understanding of tools for soil analysis in order to use them more efficiently. The design of the text is such that it enables first the selection of a method appropriate to the problem, and then its execution. The first part of the book covers sampling problems, which looks at selection, withdrawing, drying and fractionation of samples. The second part of the book covers problems related to actual analysis and quality control of results. Principle physicochemical methods, especially spectroscopic and chromatographic, are sequentially presented in detail. techniques of laboratory automation and of statistical quality control of the results are also explained. This reference lists the tools for sampling, analysis and quality control available at the beginning of the 21st century for soil science.
