Biography

Herman Shugart is a professor emeritus of natural history at the University of Virginia. Peter White is a professor emeritus of biology at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Shugart and White are coauthors of The World Atlas of Trees and Forests (Princeton). Tugce Okay is a natural history illustrator who works primarily with watercolours. Her work has appeared in many books and magazines.
