This authoritative project by Hoeksema and Van Ofwegen of the National Museum of Natural History Naturalis (Leiden, The Netherlands) deals with animals that are popularly known as stony corals, soft corals, gorgonians, sea pens, black corals, fire corals, and lace corals. This CD ROM provides 2500 illustrations and a computer assisted identification key to the approximately 170 (sub) genera, a brief diagnosis for each genus, and interactive distribution maps for the stony corals indicating the total range for each genus in the Indo-Pacific.
