About this book

Language: Catalan

The aim of this book is to introduce the reader to the fascinating world of mycology, i.e. mushrooms and their environment. Inside, illustrated with many photographs, are the most representative species of Valencia, Spain, their culinary, ecological, toxicological and even psychotropic properties.

This book is not intended to be a catalog of edible mushrooms because today it is relatively simple to get these products in many specialized shops. Instead it aims to help the reader to identify the most interesting species, both edible and inedible. Nor is it intended as a guide for the depredation of our forests, but to contribute to the dissemination of knowledge about our natural environment.

The book is, in short, an invitation to learn more about nature and enjoy the fantastic natural riches that the country has. We must be aware of the intangible cultural heritage we have and keep it for tomorrow's generations so they may also enjoy it.

Summary in Catalan:

Només coneixent-lo podrem entendre’l, apreciar-lo i estimar-lo.
