This is the first ever book on geomorphological aspects of the Southern Signalila Range, a mountain ridge on the international border between India and Nepal that runs from northwestern West Bengal through Sikkim into the Indian part of the Himalayas. It contains world-famous peaks such as Sandakphu and Phalut. The author has conducted field studies in this rugged terrain for about three decades. Basic facts regarding the physical set-up of the range as well as the changing nature of its environments are thus well represented based on his direct observations.
