About this book

This is the first ever book on geomorphological aspects of the Southern Signalila Range, a mountain ridge on the international border between India and Nepal that runs from northwestern West Bengal through Sikkim into the Indian part of the Himalayas. It contains world-famous peaks such as Sandakphu and Phalut. The author has conducted field studies in this rugged terrain for about three decades. Basic facts regarding the physical set-up of the range as well as the changing nature of its environments are thus well represented based on his direct observations. All illustrations have been made by the author. The book will be of interested to readers in geomorphology and act as a guide book for people wanting to trek over the range.
