In his haunting debut Water and Sky, published by Little Toller and Caught by the River in 2014, Neil Sentance explored the history of his family and the landscape which shaped them.
Ridge & Furrow continues Neil's project to chart in prose the voices of a seldom recorded people and place. From the long shadows of war and want, to facing the great changes in rural life during the latter half of the twentieth century, to first forays into a world beyond the flatlands of Lincolnshire, Ridge & Furrow delicately portrays the dreams of lone – and often lonely – figures in one family's history.
Ridge & Furrow melds memoir and fiction, place and nature writing, told with characteristic lyricism and muddy realism.
Neil Sentance was born in 1969. He now lives in west Dorset with his wife and two children. His first book, Water and Sky, was published to great acclaim by Little Toller Books in 2014.
