Almost 20% of the world's bird species live in Colombia, the majority of them in the Andes region.

This 7-CD-set contains songs of 624 birdspecies belonging to 55 families. It is the most complete compilation of Neotropical bird vocalizations published to date for this area. 56 Contributing ornithologists made recordings at over 150 different localities (including Oriental, Central and Western Cordillera of Colombia). It includes 65 threatened birdspecies and 31 endemics. Over 1200 recordings.

Without doubt this CD-set will be a reference guide for birdwatchers and ornithologists who are interested in the Colombian birds of the Andes.

This CD-set is part of the National Biodiversity Inventory and contributes to the development of the National Bird Conservation Strategy in Colombia.
