The planthopper family Delphacidae, with more than 2000 described species, is the largest of the 20 recognized families of the Fulgoroidea.

The present monograph deals with the systematic studies on the family delphacidae from China. It comprises two parts. The first part is a general account, it consists of six chapters: research history, systems of classification, morphological characters, bionomics and ecology, economic importance and geographical distribution, studies of planthopper pests in China, the collection, rearing and preservatron of planthopper specimens. The Second part compiles a systematic account of Chinese delphacies.
