About this book

This comprehensive guide to home-grown food includes fruits picked from the tree, bush and cane, annual and perennial salads, vegetables, herbs, nuts and even edible flowers, with recommended plant lists to suit particular growing conditions. Clear step-by-step diagrams and checklists guide every step of the way, from choosing suitable plants, through watering, fertilizers and bug control, to harvesting and longer term plant care - all year round. New or interesting techniques for getting even more out of the space, or ways to prolong the harvest are detailed as well as a variety of ways to use the crop in the kitchen.

Finally, a year is covered in detail for each crop, explaining when to sow, harvest, store and eat.
