About this book

Language: Russian

The book is a guide to the conifers of St. Petersburg and surrounding areas, and is the second extended edition. In the first part of the book, the story of the introduction of conifers in St. Petersburg is presented in a popular and easily accessible form and practical tips are given on cultivating various conifers and using them in landscaping and ornamental gardening. In the second part, much attention is paid to the morphology of conifers. Detailed morphological descriptions are given for 240 taxa that have successfully passed introduction tests in St. Petersburg. The book includes original keys for identifying families, genera and species, based primarily on the basis of signs of vegetative organs. The work is illustrated with original drawings and photographs.
