E.J. Pirog has been keeping a large group of reptiles with a special focus on tortoises for more than 30 years. He frequently writes and lectures on turtle-related topics and is the author of two previous books on tortoises. He lives near Atlanta, Georgia, with his family and a herd of tortoises.
