The book contains descriptions of 211 species of land gastropoda, belonging to 98 genera in 33 families. Most of these taxa are well known in the Ukraine. Each chapter also contains information concerning the distribution and ecology of the treated species. Determination keys lead the users of this book to the right species. The book comes together with a CD-ROM which contains an additional 500 color pictures of living snails as well as shells, the latter are housed in the State Museum of Natural History Lviv (Ukraine). Additionally, the CD-ROM contains several PDF files with publications of the authors concerning the land snails of the Ukraine.
