These Bird Ringing Pliers are for use with split rings - as used by most of the national birding schemes around the world including BTO, SAFRING, USFWS and ABBBS. These pliers can also be used to close split rings supplied by smaller companies specialising in caged birds. The new design features computer-engineered holes to perfect the size and elliptical angle of each hole. This now ensures even and complete closure of rings. The ringing pliers are made of stainless steel.

These Bird Ringing (Banding) Pliers have been designed to close rings up to 8mm in diameter. They feature 5 elliptical holes of varying diameters (maximum hole diameter = 8, 6.5, 5, 4 and 3 mm) and are suitable for closing BTO ring sizes AA to E.

The pliers come with a handy lanyard for convenient use.

We strongly recommend that you also carry Bird Ringing Circlip Pliers or Avinet Bird Ringing Circlip Pliers for de-ringing during any bird ringing sessions.
