A taxonomic monograph of the Quiinaceae is presented and covers aspects of taxonomic history, morphology, anatomy, phylogeny, biogeography, and ecology. The Quiinaceae comprise four genera (Froesia, Lacunaria, Quiina, Touroulia) and 46 species of trees and shrubs native to the Neotropics, mainly of the humid Amazon lowland rainforests. For all species, full descriptions, nomenclature, identification keys, and distribution maps are provided.
