The Mediterranean Region is distinguished for its special geographical, geoeconomical, geopolitical and environmental specialities. Being at the crossroads of three continents makes water a central issue for regional policies. The Regional Meeting on water in the Mediterranean Basin was expected to bring together the Mediterranean community of water to identify and analyze major regional perspective on global water issues, the outcomes of this meeting provided a significant contribution incorporating the development of the thematic and political processes in the region.
