About this book

Language: French

This botanical dictionary is a particularly complete work that brings together 10,000 terms specific to the description of plants. Botany is a science that evolves according to new investigative techniques and is thus enriched by many new terms. The book presents both old terms used in 18th and 19th-century books that are still in use, as well as terms from the latest technologies related to DNA analysis. Most of the terms are illustrated with line drawings by Alain Jouy to facilitate understanding.

The thesaurus part of the book is based on plates of illustrations classified by theme (organs or parts of a plant, or by major botanical families). It allows the user to find a specific term from the illustrations. This is a unique tool in the botanical literature. This book is intended for all botanists whatever their level, whether they are amateurs, experienced botanists or even researchers.
