This new edition of "l'Atlas des Poissons d'Eau Douce de France" (published in 2001, now out of print), is fully updated on taxonomy and species distribution. Twenty species were added to 83 presented in the 1st edition. Groups in which taxa were recently described (sculpins, gudgeons...) are discussed in the light of recent genetic studies.
The book includes identification keys, detailed monographs which, like the previous atlas, contain numerous distribution maps incorporating the latest data. The reader will also find general chapters on the history, knowledge and management of populations and ecosystems. A real tool for identification and study, this book is the result of collective work of 48 authors, all recognized specialists.
