Dr Yilmaz Akyuz is chief economist with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), responsible for preparing UNCTAD's annual Trade and Development Report. He was previously professor of economics at the University of East Anglia and at Webster University in Geneva. He is the author of Reforming the Global Financial Architecture (Zed Books, 2002)
