Based on a detailed investigation of ancient trees in Lijiang, China, 838 individual ancient trees were recorded in Lijiang City, with 38 species belonging to 20 families and 35 genera. Among them a total of 200 gymnosperms; 18 angiosperm families and 34 species for a total of 638; and 20 deciduous species and 18 evergreen species. In addition, the morphological characteristics of each tree, distribution, growth environment and protection methods are described, and the relationship between old trees and local culture is also described.
