The Clethraceae occurring in Ecuador are revised. Nine species of Clethra are recorded from Ecuador, two of which are described as new, viz. C. parallelinervia and C. crispa. Keys, descriptions, and full specimen citations are provided and all species are illustrated. - The only species of Cyrillaceae known to Ecuador, Purdiaea nutans, is described and illustrated.
