T. ADEMOLA OYEJIDE is Professor of Economics and Director of the Trade Policy Research and Training Programme at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. His major area of expertise is international economics, with a special interest in Trade policy and regional integration. He has been a member of the United Nations Committee for Development Planning, and has consulted for the World Bank. He has also been on the Advisory Committee of the African Economic Research Consortium, for whom he is currently directing a research project on regional integration and trade liberalization. He serves as Managing Editor of both the Journal of African Economies and the African Journal of Economic Policy. JAN WILLEM GUNNING is Professor of Development Economics at the Free University, Amsterdam. He is also Professor at CERDI, University of Auvergne, member of the Centre for the Study of African Economies, University of Oxford and Managing Editor, Journal of African Economies. His specialities are trade policy and general equilibrium modelling. BENNO J. NDULU is the Executive Director of the African Economic Research Consortium in Nairobi, on leave from the University of Dar-es-Salaam where he served as Professor of Economics and chaired the department. He is widely published in international journals and books, specifically on macroeconomic policy adjustment and growth, trade policy, agricultural and industrial policy, governance and economic management, and macroeconomic modelling. He serves on a wide range of editorial boards including those for World Development and Journal of African Economies. He has served as consultant and adviser to a wide range of international organizations and countries on matters related to economic policy and development. His current policy involvement includes serving as a director on the boards of the Tanzania's Central Bank and as the Tanzania Revenue Authority.
