De Vegetatie van Nederland

New standard reference replacing the 1969 work by Westhoff and Den Held. There is an extended introduction to modern phytosociology and presents a systematic description of all plant communities recognised in the Netherlands. Full phytosociological tables and several spectra (life-form, distribution type, etc) are included for each syntaxonomical unit. Although written in Dutch, much of the work is accessible via the extensive tables and illustrations.

The first five volumes were published by Opulus Press, which ceased trading. After a hiatus KNNV Publishing is continuing the series in 2017 with the publication of volume 6.
