Covers every gecko, flap-footed lizard, goanna, dragon, skink, snake and turtle known to live throughout the many habitats of New South Wales. The new edition of this state reptile guide narrows down the field of species identification to a manageable size for any naturalist. The tell-tale details that make ID possible lie in the descriptions of families, genera and species, and these are accompanied by clear line drawings. Where you need to compare similar species, simple keys are provided. The location maps, generated from the Australian Museum database, also prove invaluable.A Field Guide to Reptiles of New South Wales is a thorough update, expansion and revision of the original book – A Field Guide to the Snakes and Lizards of New South Wales, which was first published in 1990 – and the subsequent edition which was revised in 2004. Since the second edition 20 new species of reptiles have been recorded in New South Wales. In addition there have been 17 generic changes covering about 42 species. Distribution maps for 62 species have been modified and common names for all species have been included.
