This is the first book is about Chinese Phoridae, a family of flies. The book is divided into two volumes, the book includes an overview of Phoridae classification, morphological characteristics, economic importance, taxonomic status of each subfamily, identification keys, and species accounts. The book describes 87 kinds Phoridae, 222 genera and 22 new species, seven genera that are recorded as new for China, and four new species. Species records are accompanied by a full citation, morphological description, geographical distribution and identification feature. For new species there is a morphological description of the type specimen, location of the type specimen, identifying characteristics, along with an English description. At the end of the book the reader can find references, a 83-page English abstract, and indices of Chinese and scientific names.
