The second volume of MOS Archives is dedicated to the memory of Evgeny N. Kurochkin – the Honorary President of the Menzbier Ornithological Society who has made a great contribution to the integration of the scientific community of ornithologists of Northern Eurasia both in the 1980's and then in the decade following the year 2000, as well as to research on the origin and evolution of birds. He was both a remarkable scientist and an eminent person. Recollections of disciples, friends and colleagues of E.N. Kurochkin are collected in the book, the total list of his publications is provided and his latest study on origin of birds is included. The second part of the volume contains some articles on a paleomithology as the main subject of studies of E.N. Kurochkin during his entire life. A special section includes papers on avifauna, systematic and zoogeography of birds which were also subjects of periodical interest of Evgeny Kurochkin.

Второй том Трудов МОО посвящен светлой памяти Евгения Николаевича Курочкина - Почетного Президента Мензбировского орнитологического общества, вложившего много своих сил в объединение научного сообщества орнитологов Северной Евразии в 1980-е, а затем в 2000-е годы, внесшего большой вклад в изучение происхождения и эволюции птиц, просто замечательного Ученого и Человека. В книге собраны воспоминания учеников, друзей и коллег о ЕН. Курочкине, приведен полный перечень его публикаций, помещена итоговая работа Евгения Николаевича о происхождении птиц. Во второй части сборника представлен ряд статей по палеорнитологии, которой всю свою жизнь посвятил Е.Н. Курочкин. Отдельный раздел составляют работы по фаунистике, систематике и зоогеографии птиц, которыми тоже периодически занимался и всегда интересовался Евгений Николаевич.
