This book presents an original account of the bryophytes of the Indira Gandii National Park, Anamalais in the Western Ghats, India, and describes 217 species, including 135 mosses, 81 liverworts and 1 hornwort supported by 216 figures and 26 colour plates. This work includes seven species new to the bryoflora of India, one to that of the lndian mainland, 15 to that of Peninsular lndia, one to that of the Western Ghats, and five rediscovered after more than half a century. Synonyms pertaining to lndia and adjacent regions are provided which include almost all Indian literature. Species are described in detail mostly based on fresh material. lnformation on habitat, distribution etc., is provided.
