In 1997 the Publishing House MGG Verlag Thomas Frankenbach, Wangen released the book Ornithoptera by Béla von Knötgen. This publication is a supplement to von Knötgen's book containing the missing subspecies and forms. Furthermore several new taxa have been added. The subspecies and variations that were already extensively treated by von Knötgen are briefly listed only without further comments.
