This excellent bilingual checklist confirms definitively that Colombia has more bird species than any other country in the world, with extensive information provided on 1870 species and all subspecies that have been confirmed within the Republic of Colombia, as of March 2008. This is the 5th publication of the journal Conservacion Colombiana by Colombian bird conservation NGO Fundacion ProAves and the second edition of this checklist, drawing on South American ornithological knowledge. This checklist has the same cover dimensions as the Guide to the Birds of Colombia and with its hardcover, it's a great field companion. 50% of sales are donated to bird conservation.
