Koajiro Forest, found in the prefecture of Kanagawa just south of Tokyo, is known for its forests and ocean where red crabs live. Illustrations by scientific illustrators show the crabs that can be seen in this forest and on the coast. Approximately 60 species of crabs live in the tidal flats and forests of Koajiro, which stretches from the ridge to the sea. This book introduces 38 of these species that live in shallow waters, categorized by habitat. Most of the crabs live in areas accessible on foot, so it's perfect for observing crabs around you.
