Butterflies of the Levant is a four-volume series dealing with over 250 species of nine countries and regions including (north to south): South Turkey (southern Adana, southern Osmaniye, southern Gaziantep, Kilis & Hatay/Antakya), Cyprus, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan, Egypt, Sinai and northwestern Saudi Arabia (Hejaz). For every species, the books present all available present-day information: photographs of spread views of male and female specimens (both upper and undersides), forms and annual broods, life histories of all early stages, hostplants, adults in the wild, distribution maps, early stages and flight period activities (phenology), 18 parameters of their behaviour from roosting and puddling to hilltopping, territoriality & myrmecophily (ethology), parasitoids and conservation status.
