The Colour Guide to Caterpillars of Central Europe

This comprehensive and easily understood reference book of which is the first volume in print now, is intended as a field guide to identification of caterpillars of Central European moth. It should help the people, which are not scientifically trained, but wish to learn more about the life of moths and be able to identify the caterpillars. This work shall supplement the magnificent Porter's book Caterpillars of the British Isles, published in 1997. Considering the severity of this time consuming project, this publication will be issued as the series of volumes, each of which will list only the species not dealt with in the preceding volumes. Each volume should cover 250 - 300 species, all provided with the elementary data on their distribution, occurrence, food plants and ecology in bilingual (czech/english) text and supplied with plates of magnificent colour photos of the last (unless otherwise stated) instar of caterpillars, including also the different-looking forms of some variable species. The main text is arranged in conventional way based on the recent classification of Lepidoptera by Razowski (1994).
