Land-Ocean Interactions in the Coastal Zone (LOICZ)

One of the long term objectives of the Land-Ocean Interactions in the Coastal Zone (LOICZ) International Project of the International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme is to assess how the responses of coastal systems to global change will affect the habitation and use by humans of coastal areas and to develop further the socio-economic basis for the integrated management of the coastal environments. To do so requires the development of analyses and modelling approaches that can be applied in a number of situations that will produce comparable and consistent outputs.
