About this book

Language: English

A third addition to this series of field guides. Some new plant groups are included in this book to cover the plant diversity of Sahyadri. Large plant groups with inconspicuous flowers such as sedges and grasses have still remained outside the scope of these books. Palms, conifers and cycads found in the Sahyadri area are enumerated along with identification keys. With more than 800 additional species in this book, the set ot 3 field guides now covers 2 200 species of flowering plants of this global hot spot.

It is evident that Flowers of Sahyadri contained ‘common’ plants, Further Flowers of Sahyadri contained 'occasional’ plants and this book Additions to Flowers of Sahyadri contains ‘rare’ plants. From the first book to the third book the flowers change from colourful-large to dull-inconspicuous. This gradation was not contemplated but it rnay help the readers to locate the plants in the right field guide.
