This distribution atlas is available is simultaneously published in three different languages: German, French, and Italian.

A total of 99 wild mammal species are currently found in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. The Atlante dei Mammiferi della Svizzera e del Liechtenstein portrays them in accordance with the latest scientific knowledge. The species portraits include generally understandable texts on biology, distribution, the demands on the habitat, as well as protection and management status, distribution maps, numerous photos and diagrams. Cross-species aspects are explained in 15 focus chapters and include topics such as the reintroduction of extinct species or the handling of large carnivores. In addition to recognized experts, numerous laypeople have also contributed to the atlas in the context of citizen science projects.

In Svizzera e nel Liechtenstein è attualmente dimostrata la presenza di 99 specie di mammiferi selvatici. Nell'Atlante dei Mammiferi della Svizzera e Liechtenstein sono descritte in maniera scientifica e in un linguaggio generalmente comprensibile. I ritratti delle specie comprendono testi sulla biologia, la distribuzione, le esigenze di habitat, nonché la loro conservazione e gestione.
