This volume, which is based on an international speleological expedition conducted in February 2020, attempts to compile an overview of the caves of Taiwan. The expedition resulted in 48 caves visited and 46 surveyed with a total of 2.3 km of passage. Altogether information on over 190 caves is provided in this volume. Together with other caves reported to the authors, it can be stated that there are well over 400 caves currently known in Taiwan. Basic information on the biospeleology of Taiwan is also provided.
