About this book

Language: English

Professor K.K.Neelakantan was the most famous ornithologist of Kerala who devoted his life to environmental activities, especially in the sphere of ornithology. He is better known by his pseudonym Induchoodan and wrote a considerable number of books and articles. He was always engaged in Birdwatching. His prime title The Birds of Kerala is a classical work in this area and is here translated into English. The English names given are those used in the 2020 JoTT (Journal of Threatened Taxa) Checklist of the Birds of Kerala. The first 34 chapters list birds that easy to spot and identify for beginners. From chapter 35 onwards, the order is more or less according to the order used in scientific publications.
