About this book

Language: English

From the preface by Erich Bauer:

"This part shows 837 specimens, representing 503 species out of about 1 200 described species. Most of the specimens are chosen from the two collections of Dr. Eduard Reissinger now housed in the State Museum at Stuttgart. I made the first selection looking mainly at the more colourful taxa. Dr. Winhard added 125 specimens from his own collection and 24 specimens from the State Collection in Munich. In the collection of Dr. Reissinger many specimens have a "type" label, but these taxa have never been published. These specimens are named here as "?spec." and "?subspec". A few of these taxa now have valid names and of course these valid names are shown, if this fact was known to us. The sequence is based on an unpublished list written by E. Reissinger, now in the hands of Dr. Ulf Eitschberger."
