This study covers the entire coast of Balasore and Bhadrak districts (undivided Balasore district), Odisha, India, spanning over a length of 120 km. The entire coast encompasses many complex and dynamic ecosystems like riverine, estuarine, mangrove, casuarina, mudflats, agriculture, sandy beaches, and accreted island ecosystems. A study of these ecosystems will lead hopefully lead to the preparation of a comprehensive biodiversity conservation plan of the coast of these districts.
