This book follows in the footsteps of several exploratory underwater Chinese missions inventorizing the marina reef fauna of several island in the South China Sea. Using submersible observation, reef fish were directly observed in their original living environment and from resulting of 20,869 underwater photo shoot a selection of 565 photos covering 402 species belonging to 160 genera, 54 families are shown here. This forms a complete and reliable record of Dongsha Island's reef fish species, which has great scientific and practical value.
