David Holland's has spent 16 years traversing Australia to find, study and photograph the 17 species which make up this book. His passion and enthusiasm for his subjects shine through in the text; lively, accurate, informative and beautifully written, not only about the birds but about the expeditions to find them. The book is richly illustrated with over 200 of the author's photographs. Though primarily a photographic book, there is a short, 12-page field guide section at the back to all 17 species.
