About this book

Language: German

The oak processionary is a moth for which large populations and mass reproduction have been reported throughout Germany. The butterfly caterpillar is dangerous for humans and animals because from the 3rd larval stage it develops barbed stinging hairs. In this book, the authors present the oak processionary moth in detail on the basis of its biology, occurrence, distribution and typical characteristics. Wolfgang Rohe, Lars Schwarz and Denis Ekarius have also developed a new method of combating the oak processionary moth that works entirely without poison. This procedure is described in a very practical way for implementation in urban areas. A practical book for foresters, forest workers and nature conservationists as well as for all those who want to avoid contact with these dangerous moth larvae by recognizing them in good time.
