The atlas contains 2231 distribution maps of vascular plants of Hungary. The taxa are visualized according to the Central European Grid Unit which area is nearly 6,25 km × 5,55 km. The sources of the data mostly originate from field surveys, literature sources, and herbarium databases. This distribution atlas is based on hard field work by many botanists.

Az atlasz 2832 db megközelítőleg 6,25 km × 5,55 km oldalhosszú négyzetből álló hálórendszeren ábrázolja a hazai edényes növényfajok (ha jól számoltam, 2231 taxon) előfordulásait. Az adatok saját terepi felvételezésekből, 1990 utáni, pontosan lokalizálható irodalmi forrásokból, valamint herbáriumi gyűjtésekből származnak. A Flóraatlasz megjelenésével a hazai botanikus szakma régóta dédelgetett álma látszik teljesülni.
