Dragonflies & Damselflies of Orissa and Eastern India is an attempt to bridge the information gap on this little-studied group. Odonates are not only important parts of the food-chain but are also excellent indicator species of water and habitat quality. Meticulous documentation of this fascinating order of insects is the first of its kind for the state. Special care has been taken to present technical aspects of species identification in an easy manner which will make the subject interesting for the lay reader. The book is profusely illustrated with about 250 colour photographs, covering 101 species, about 90% of all known species from this region.
