Soil sampling in soils with a uniform soil profile can almost always be conducted with one type of auger. For sampling soils with a layered profile (heterogeneous soils), however, several different auger types will be required. The Eijkelkamp Auger Set for Heterogeneous Soils has been designed to meet this need perfectly.

With this set it is possible to obtain layered soil profiles to a depth of 5 metres, without great physical effort. The Eijkelkamp Auger Set for Heterogeneous Soils can be used for taking auger samples above the water table in all soils, and below the water table in cohesive soils.

The auger set has a variety of auger heads of 7cm in diameter, all with bayonet connections.  The set comprises: 4 types of Edelman auger (clay, sand, coarse sand and combination), a riverside auger, a stony soil auger, a spiral auger, a piston sampler and a gouge auger. The set also contains: extension rods, a peat probe, a sounding device with measuring tape, a push/pull handle, maintenance equipment and a field data registration set. The complete set is supplied in an aluminium transport case.
